FF Update Week 1

Dear All,

Yes they're off and running at last - although stuttering and stumbling might be a better way to describe some teams' performances.

That's right, while some managers have been threatening the upper echelons of the overall nationwide FF competition, others have been out of the traps slower than Steptoe's greyhound (and I'm not talking about Man Utd here!!!).

Speaking of which, I'm sure there are plenty of managers out there shaking their heads at the loss of Rooney and Ronaldo so early in the season. Points missed out on, transfers wasted, oh no my season is over already!!! Yes, I can hear it all now. Such is the competitive nature of DITB FF Football.

So let's get things underway why don't we.

It's obviously still early doors and it will be a little while yet before the leagues really settle down and take shape so don't worry too much about your position just yet. having said that, I'd rather be in the Prince's position than Gulladuff Mafia's at this stage!

Yes the Prince of Darkness, a somewhat unwilling participant this season ("just as I thought I was out, they dragged me back in!"), is topping the table midway through week two, ahead of Brendys Bruisers and Sheer Kidology FAF!! The UEFA Cup places are currently occupied by Harpic Amsterdam and Au Revoir Thierry14 - just ahead of a quartet of former champions in The Grapes, Chelsea Daggers, KFC Academical and The Dogs Ballacks.

At the bottom end of the Premier League, another former champion Gulladuff Mafia and cronie Decies Ant Atac are holding up the table. Both teams just about made the cut last season and look to have carried that form into this year. True Blue Strikers occupy the third relegation spot.

SUPER LEAGUE POSITION IN LEAGUE OF SUPER LEAGUES: 2503

The Conference League is off to a flyer with Yer Ma's Athletic storming ahead on 72 points. Brother Jones was actually 53rd nationwide after the weekend but has now slipped to 200 odd and will probably never see his name in the Telegraph. It's all downhill from here Frank. It reminds me of a card school in university when wee packie Hurson won the first hand of knockout whist, said it was going to be his lucky night and never won another hand... in about 10 hours. I think he's still paying off his debts from that one.

Steprightin (another classic name from Henry Senior) and Muckamore Utd take up the other coveted promotion positions, while it will surprise no-one to see Fernando Muppetorres at the very bottom of the pile. I suppose you could say that Brother Maynes is the lowest of the low!
