League Update

Dear All,

It's a worrying sign for the bottom half of the table as NOBODY moved from red to black or vice versa this week - the first time that has happened this season.

Does this mean that the league has at last settled?

Of course not - the difference between Premiership and Division Two football at the moment is just two points with Yer Ma's Athletic on the right side of the divide and The Professor surprisingly on the wrong side.

With the FFA Cup quarter finals out of the way, our focus now returns to the bread and butter of the league title race. And what a race we have this season.

Only seven points separate the top three with The Grapes just about hanging on ahead of The Dogs Ballacks and The Penalty Kings. KFC Academical and Minus Three FC aren't far behind either with a gap then of 31 points to the improving Maclacticos who look like they won't be giving up their league title without a fight.

At the bottom, no Liverpool match means that the Muppets slip back into the relegation zone, allowing the Busted Sofas to come up for air, while the Well Hungarians are now just 11 points from safety. It must be said that Cool Dude Zoo are an absolute disgrace this season. Chuckle Brother Senior's score of 840 points is no less than a whopping 120 points behind SECOND FROM BOTTOM!!!!! A perfect example of why we need two divisions next season!

High scorer this week is Flexy's Fairies on 41, followed by Gulladuff Mafia on 39 and Gazza's Piping Hots on 37.

The Muppets easily secure the lowest score with a big fat zero, ahead of the Mersey Miracles (12), Cool Dude Zoo (14) and The Toffees (14).

At least our super league improved its overall disappointing position by jumping from 917th position to 867th position in the league of super leagues (out of a total 12,296 super leagues). I challenge anyone to use the words 'super league' more times in one sentence than I just did!

So there you have it my friends. Still plenty of life left in this season. I hear reports of certain managers who will remain anonymous who have already resigned themselves to division two football next season (5-Star!!!) even though they have every chance of survival if they would only pull their finger out and use a few transfers.

That type of loser's attitude will ensure that you'll be playing in the lower league next season. And that goes for all you managers sitting around feeling sorry for yourselves. Two weeks ago, Gulladuff Mafia was in trouble in the bottom half of the table. Now he's riding high in 16th place!

Remember, most teams still have NINE or more league games left and with the remaining FA cup matches, there is plenty of time to turn around your fortunes - for better or for worse.

Anything can happen and it usually does. You've been warned.
