Dear All,
It's getting harder for the Chairman to comment on the top of the Premier League table as it's difficult to see what's going on from my lowly league position - but I'll do my best.
A good week for Harpic Amsterdam, with the week's top score of 59, sees Brother Molloy move up into second place, just 16 points behind leader Minus Three FC.
You can almost smell the nerves from here and believe me that stench will only get worse with every passing week.
The ever dangerous ABCDE FC lies in third place just 9 points behind Harpic, while the top five is completed by Maclacticos and HIT THE BAR.
Feeder club MUFC and Gazza's Piping Hots are still challenging strongly for a European place, then it's a drop of 20 points to the ominous figure of The Professor, ahead of Diaby Does Dallas, the Blue Monkeys and the disappointing (and extremely unlucky!!!) Grapes.
At the bottom of the table, it's looking grim for Minibabybelle FC and The Prince of Darkness, while unbelievably the Colonel has managed to leapfrog True Blue Strikers and escape from the relegation zone for the first time - giving hope to all you no hopers out there.
Brendy's Bruisers, meanwhile, face a nervous few weeks as one bad slip and he too could be in the proverbial. Worrying times indeed for Brother Devlin, and anyone who might get on his bad side at the AGP if he goes down!
In the Conference League, probably The Best still enjoys a healthy lead, despite an average score by his own high standards. Bazkinginglory is looking good for a return to the premiership while that third all-important promotional spot looks like a direct fight between Flexys Fairies and Boys of Summer. Very exciting!
At the bottom, there is still plenty to fight for. Even though Cool Dude Zoo must again be hot favourites to finish bottom of the heap, any of the bottom five could still be relegated. No surprise to see the Fernandos and Virgin Surfers down there too - while Real Goldfish look like they too have what it takes to be 'perennial strugglers' for years to come.
As mentioned earlier, Harpic Amsterdam was this week's top scorer with 59 points, ahead of KFC Academical on 57, with Making History, The Grapes of Raff and Hoofers Utd all accumulating 55 points.
In a relatively high scoring week, Brendys Bruisers hang their heads in shame with just 15 points. Yer Ma's Athletic (20) and Mersey Miracles (24) were the next lowest scorers.
With Man Utd not playing this weekend, we could see quite a few changes at the top and bottom of each division, so wise use of transfers could be the key.
This week's password is sick note ANDERTON.
That's it for this weeks folks. Without further adieu........

Dear All,
Apologies for the delay, but here are the results from the second round of the DITB FFA Cup...

Harpic Amsterdam (P3) 32 vs 42 Gazza's Piping Hots (P7)

Excellent away win for Gazza, leaving a disappointed Harpic to focus on the league (which might not be a bad thing!).

Muckamore ULD (C7) 14 vs 25 Chamonix Albion (C18)

Defending champ suffers an unexpected (and embarrassing) home defeat to relegation struggler McCabe#3.

Yer Ma's Athletic (P13) 32 vs 19 Maclacticos (P5)

Former champ Mcnally well beaten by Brother Jones. Third upset in a row!!!

Diaby Does Dallas (P8) 19 vs 13 Dirty Dubs XI (C16)

Brother Brogan restores some sanity to proceedings with a home win over McCabe#2, albeit it tighter than he would have liked.

ABCDE FC (P2) 33 vs 5 Prince of Darkness (P18)

The Chairman said this was game over on paper and he was right. A veritable mauling which reflects The Prince's current form. McDermott goes for the double while Sheehy is already thinking about the Conference next season.

Probably The Best (C1) 37 vs 23 Minus Three FC (P1)

Conference leader knocks out Premiership leader in grudge match. Stevenson's relentless form continues, leaving Johnston to concentrate on winning the league - or is this the first sign that he may be starting to bottle it!!!

HIT THE BAR (P6) 44 vs 30 True Blue Strikers (P17)

Brother Crudden picks up an expected home win against an out of form Strikers who should really now focus on premiership survival!

Real Goldfish (C20) 27 vs 33 Gulladuff FF (P12)

Brother McAvoy puts up a good fight but loses out to former champion Henry Jnr.

So there you have it my friends. Six premier league teams and two conference league teams will fight it out in the quarter finals of this year's DITB FFA Cup.

Gazza's Piping Hots (P)

Chamonix Albion (C)

Yer Ma's Athletic (P)

Diaby Does Dallas (P)

ABCDE FC (P)

Probably The Best (C)

Hit The Bar (P)

Gulladuff FF (P)

Congratulations to all eight teams and good luck in the next round.

Dear All,

Since I went on holiday, Minus Three FC have put their foot well and truly on the gas and opened up a lead of almost 30 points at the top of the Premier League.

It's way too early to be thinking of league titles at this stage but I'm sure Brother Johnston has envisaged picking up his first league trophy many times.

We all know that winning that first title is extremely difficult (believe me winning a second title is just as hard!). If you cast your minds back to last season, there were lots of teams taking turns at the top, all looking for that elusive first league win - but every last one of them bottled it as The Professor and the Grapes came up on the rails to take the top two places. Not a good omen for a team with a reputation for bottling it, like Minus Three FC.

Anyone in any doubt about this should have a word with Brother Shields who was 'romping it' earlier in the season. Or indeed the Prince of Darkness, who still hasn't recovered from last season's fall from grace.

Wily campaigner ABCDE FC lurks dangerously in second place, ahead of Harpic Amsterdam, Feeder Club MUFC and Maclacticos.

Speaking of Brother Shields, the Blue Monkeys were top scorers in the Prem this week with 62 points and are now back in contention for a top ten finish, at the expense of the Grapes!!!

Other scorers of note were Maclacticos with 50 and Cherry Utd with 48 (bad news for the relegation candidates!).

Don't think any scores were particularly bad enough to slag off this week but what the hell... hanging their heads in relative shame this week are Yer Ma's Athletic (32), True Blue Strikers (33) and Brendys Bruisers (33).

Not sure what's happening in the Conference this week.

Until next week then...

Dear All,

It's the moment that you've all been waiting for (well 16 of you anyway!).

Live from the Diving in the Box FF League Headquarters here in Pilot's View, we have the draw for the last 16 of the FFA Cup.

Once again, in the interests of impartiality, Brother Johnston will assist me by drawing out the teams.

Teams going into the hat today are as follows (league status in brackets)
Harpic Amsterdam (P)
Yer Ma's Athletic (C)
Probably The Best (C)
Muckamore Uld (C)
Gulladuff FF (P)
ABCDE FC (P)
Real Goldfish (C)
Gazza's Piping Hots (P)
Prince of Darkness (P)
Minus Three FC (P)
HIT THE BAR (P)
Chamonix Albion (C)
Dirty Dubs XI (C)
True Blue Strikers (P)
Maclacticos (P)
Diaby Does Dallas (P)

So without further adieu, let the draw commence (drumroll Stevie please....)

Real Goldfish (C20) vs Gulladuff FF (P12)

Brother Henry Jnr gets the draw they were all hoping for but can McAvoy provide a lagical cup upset?

Harpic Amsterdam (P3) vs Gazza's Piping Hots (P7)

Exciting prospect between two teams in good form and in the Premier League Top 10. Harpic should edge it on paper though.

Muckamore ULD (C7) vs Chamonix Albion (C18)

An all Conference clash between the current holder and one of the league's debutants. The ULD boys must be fancied for a home win.

Yer Ma's Athletic (P13) vs Maclacticos (P5)

Should be a tight match but former champ McNally must be favourite for an away win.

Diaby Does Dallas (P8) vs Dirty Dubs XI (C16)

Battle of the 'D's!!! ON paper this should be a very straightforward home win for Brogie - which means it's also potentially a massive banana skin!!!

ABCDE FC (P2) vs Prince of Darkness (P18)

All premier clash sees high flying McDermott take on low flying Sheehy in a local derby! Game over on paper but this game has some added spice. Bring it on!

Probably The Best (C1) vs Minus Three FC (P1)

Undoubtedly the tie of the round as the Conference leader takes on the Premiership leader. You could almost call it a battle of the giants - if one of the teams wasn't in the conference!!! Also a derby match for added spice!!! Johnston on paper but Stevenson has been relentless in his scoring this season. Close call.

HIT THE BAR (P6) vs True Blue Strikers (P17)

And finally, Brother Crudden gets a nice home draw against the Strikers who are probably more concerned about premiership survival than cup glory! Must be a home win!

And that completes the draw for the last 16 of the FFA Cup. Ties to be played on the weekend of Saturday February 14, 2008.

We know that the last eight will feature at least three premier league clubs and at least one conference club - the other four places could go either way (but probably to the premiership).

Whatever way you look at it, we have an exciting second round in store.

Good luck to one and all!
