Dear All,

Very busy this week with all sorts of stuff so I'll make it quick.

The Grapes and Sheer Kidology still top both divisions.

FF stalwart Hoofers Utd are BOTTOM of the Conference League, whilst Minibabybelle still holds up the Premiership.

This week's transfer password is SHERWOOD.

Finally, Sheer Kidology will be sedning an invite to join him on his facebook site for the forthcoming Minnows' gig at the legendary Half Moon Club in Putney, London, where bands like the Rolling Stones, The Who, and early U2 have played in years gone by.

The gig is on Friday November 14 and the Chairman will deduct points from anyone who doesn't sign up to Brother O'Sullivan's invitation (which he will forward to you all now).

Update 19/09/08

Dear All,

As we head into another weekend of exciting DITB football, I thought I should let you know how things stand on the eve of battle.

The Grapes are off to a flyer, sitting proudly on top of the Premier League, closely followed by another ex-champion Diaby Does Dallas, and imporved Kirbs Crawlers, looking to improve on his top five finish last season.

A bad week for Guru Walls saw Feeder Club MUFC slide down the table dramatically, but still well clear of the relegation zone, occupied by Minibabybelle, Gulladuff FF and ABCDE FC.

The Prince of Darkness meanwhile is trying a different approach this season. Instead of blowing a healthy lead in the latter satges of the season, Brother Sheehy has set out to do poorly at the START of the season this time and finish with a title-winning flourish. Am I the only one who thinks this is a somewhat risky strategy?

A good week for the defending champion Making History sees The Professor ease into the Top 10.

In the Conference League, Paddy Sulls is having the time of his life, bringing back memories of the year when he won the league title. Back down to earth time Sulls - you're in the CONFERENCE league lad!!!

Other teams in the 'best of a bad bunch' category are Probably The Best and Flexy's Fairies - so two of last year's relegated teams are in position for promotion already. Will their experience in the top flight ensure a smooth path back to the promised land?

Real Goldfish, the other relegated team, have not taken to the conference like a fish to water it seems and are struggling in 14th position. Thanks for the invite to the housewarming party Mac but I'm not sure I want to be seen associating with lowly 'conference' people - bad for the image.

Newcomers Chamonix Albion and the more experienced Busted Sofas and Hoofers Utd don't really deserve a mention but it's too late for that now. Pull your socks up guys. As Suggs once sang...

YOU'RE AN EMBARRASSMENT!!!

Once again, the difference in class between the two leagues is reflected in a difference of 1241 places in the league of super leagues.

Finally, might be a lucky omen for any Villa fans wanting to do some transfers this weekend as the password is MORTIMER.

There are two words, as you all know, for this... RIDICULOUS!

Anyway, the good news after week three is that the The Grapes of Raff are top of the Premier League.

The bad news is that... well, actually, there is no bad news.

No seriously, I suppose I may as well give some others a mention too.

As I said, the chairman tops the table by just one point from Kirbs Crawlers with a host of teams within touching distance, as one would expect at this early stage of the season.

These include Diaby Does Dallas, True Blue Strikers and Minus Three FC who complete our top five.

Premiership new boys Yer Ma's Athletic, Gazzas Piping Hots and Gulladuff FF have yet to reach the 100 point mark, the latter looking an early candidate to go straight back down to the Conference.

Sister Baber still holds up the table, in particular the Gulladuff contigent - but there's nothing to wory about yet. In fact I think that the three teams in the relegation zone are employing the tactic that if they stay just behind defending champion Making History, they'll do very well. So the tactic is working, it's just that Brother Festraerts is fourth from bottom at the moment.

In the Conference League, it's a brave man to give his team a name like Probably The Best but Brother Stevenson is proving that he just might be, sitting proudly on top of the table.

Of course, he might still look like a complete Terry Feckwit at the end of the season, but we'll let him enjoy nhis lofty position while it lasts.

Also off to a good start is Sheer Kidology with Chuckle Brother Junior obviously making a big effort to return to the top flight at his first attempt. Can't blame him - apparently it stinks down there!

Newcomer Barry's Elite XI occupies third place and will be hoping to emulate his brother's feat last year, in which Yer Ma was promoted. Flexy, Mickey Harte and Bazking are all off to a good start also, while The Fernandos, Busted Sofas and Hoofers Utd are presently the worst teams in the league. Real Goldfish are off to a slow start. Unfortunately, taking into account the memory span of a goldfish, Brother McAvoy probably can't remember that he was relegated and still thinks he's in the comfortable surroundings of the Premiership! Poor lad.

We have an international break this weekend, although it's probably still not enough time to get Torres and Gerrard back for the big game against Man Utd, who will have Berbatov in their ranks for the first time.

If anyone is tempted to put the Berb, or City's new superstar Robinho, into their teams, the password this week is SEAMAN.

So, enjoy your break this weekend. It's been a nice easy start but it really gets serious from next week.
