Week 35 Update.

As Victor Meldrew would say.... I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!

After a long hard season struggling to keep up with the pace, The Grapes have made their way to the top of the Premier League table for the first time this season.

Not far behind is the ominous shape of The Professor's Chelsea Daggers, as the two old hands prepare to lock horns again for the run-in.

Kirbs Crawlers suffered a blow this week, clocking up 19 points, which could seriously damage Brother Kirby's title hopes but he's far from out of the title race.

The same could be said for Brendy's Bruisers, hanging in there in fourth place. Do either of these two teams have the experience to challenge right to the bitter end?

It doesn't make it any easier either when defending champion The Dogs Ballacks is breathing down your neck. Despite his cup exit, Brother Brogan is in top form at the moment and making a big effort to retain his league crown.

Former runaway leader The Prince of Darkness and Au Revoir Thierry14 will be doing well to qualify for Europe at this stage but it's still possible.

At the bottom of the table, there's a look of desperation and a smell of fear in the air... and it's not very pleasant!

You've got to feel for Real Goldfish. 20 points just isn't good enough at this stage, especially when those above you are all scoring more than 30.

Brother McAvoy is now 50 points off safety, while Minibabybelle FC is 42 points off that elusive fourth from bottom spot - held by Sheer Kidology FAF!! whose performance this season, for a former champion, has been Sheer Shitology!!!

Again, remaining transfers could play a big part if used wisely and this week's password is YOUNG (as in 'Young Rooskins').

Nothing much to report in the Conference as Gazza's Piping Hots extends his lead over Yer Ma's Athletic to 19 points. Gulladuff FF's position in third still isn't cemented with a glimmer of hope still burning for You'llneverwalkalone and even Boys of Summer.

And in the ultimate relegation zone, Cool Dude Zoo and cup finalist Muckamore Utd will be paying an end of season forfeit, along with Con Villa - or possibly The Busted Clampets if they're not careful.

With just five weeks left, a lot of managers are at this stage already looking forward to August and the challenge of picking a new team for next season. A chance to put the lessons learned from this season into action, if indeed any have been learned.

For others, the most exciting time of the season has just begun.
