Week 11 Update

Dear All,

Let's face it. This season really is in its infancy.

Most of the highest scores this week didn't come at the top of the table but rather from the mid to lower league teams, which means the whole league has tightened up considerably.

Now is not really a time to look at your league position but rather your proximity to those around you. Only 100 points separates the top 27 teams in the league - and believe me, 100 points is more than catchable in this game.

Look at Bazking in Glory and Flexy's Fairies for example. High scores have seen both teams jump nine places this week. A similar performance next week and they'll be challenging for honours! You just never know what's around the corner.

Even young Maynes at the bottom of the league might still be able to avoid being last. Second or third from bottom is well within his capabilities. Oops, for some reason my nose is grwoing longer and pointier. I must get that checked out post haste.

So this week's message is clear. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and pull your finger out if you're not doing as well as you'd like. You have lots of transfers that you can use to improve your team. Your future is in your own hands. Enough said, now it's time to get back to business.

Highest score this week goes to Bazking in Glory with 66 points. Obviously Baz got bored with 33rd position after seven weeks and decided to go for a change of scenery! Well done also to Flexy's Fairies and Cherry United, both of whom scored 58 points, while I should also commend Con Villa and Virgin Surfers who are showing other managers in the relegation zone how it's done. Both managers are now in relative safety... for the time being!

Time now to say 'tut, tut', tighten those lips and nod disapprovingly at the week's lowest scorer which was none other than Cool Dude Zoo on 20 points. Once again, Chuckle Brother Senior and his Muppet friend are a disgrace to the good name of local rock gods The Minnows. Thanks God Carson (i.e., band bass player for the uninformed) doesn't follow football, that's all I say!

Having scored well last week, The Busted Sofas were brought back down to earth with 22 points while Brendy's Bruisers and Leteminletemout (aaaaaaaaaaaagggggghhhhhh!!!!!) will both be disappointed with just 23 points. Bruiser will probably be very angry so Prince of Darkness should keep a low profile at this year's ACP.

At the top of the table The Dogs Ballacks still lead the way from the almost ever present Grapes of Raff (ahem!), The Toffees, defending champ Maclacticos and the Prince of Darkness. However, a hungry pack, headed by the Colonel are gnarling at their heels. Our leaders didn't perform overly well this week which has seen our super league fall almost 1,000 places in the league of super leagues to a pitiful 2364th out of 12,263 leagues in total.

At the bottom, The Muppetaldinhos continue to break no delf, some 40 points behind fellow strugglers Gold Coast Heroes and Mersey Miracles.

Now, it's time to look at who has moved from the red zone to the black zone and vice versa.

Remember that, next season, the black zone will become the Diving in the Box Premier League while the red zone will probably be called 'Hell' or something like that.

Red
to Black: Flexy's Fairies (23rd to 14th), The Blue Monkeys (21st to 18th)

Black
to
Red: Decies Ant Atac (16th to 21st), The Busted Sofas (19th to 25th)

Finally, still waiting to hear from a few managers regarding ACP dates. If the following could please reply soonest...

5-Star

Black Socks Red Tops

Yer Ma's Athletic

Cherry United

Leteminletemout

Cool Dude Zoo

The Muppetaldinhos

At the moment, it's looking like we will hold the ACP in January as Christmas is becoming an increasingly hard time to get everyone together at the same time. Maybe if we pick a quiet weekend in January, with some good footie on TV, we might actually have a record attendance.

So folks, until next time,

READ 'EM AND WEEP!!!!!!...............
