Week 9/10 Update

Dear All,

Very busy week between work and Minnows album announcements so unfortunately I'll have to make it short and sweet this week.

Highest scorers this week - The Busted Sofas (56), The Dogs Ballacks (51) and True Blue Strikers (50). Well done on some excellent scoring.

This weeks buffoons - The Muppetaldinhos (2) - yes folks it's not a typo. Maynesy scored TWO points last week. Virgin Surfers scored 16 points while Gold Coast Heroes and Gazza's Pip[ing Hots both scored 18.

Worth pointing out AGAIN at this stage, that Bazking in Glory remains in 33rd position for the SEVENTH consecutive week - must be a DITB record!

Now, it's time for a wake-up call to all managers who don't want to be playing in Division Two next season. Yes, let's look at who has moved from the red zone to the black zone and vice versa.

Remember that, next season, the black zone will become the Diving in the Box Premier League while the red zone will probably be called DITB Division Two or something like that (I don't agree with having a Premier league AND a Division One - never have, never will!!!).

Red
to Black: The Busted Sofas (27th to 19th)

Black
to
Red: Yer Ma's Athletic (20th to 22nd)

Finally, still waiting to hear from a few managers regarding ACP dates. If the following could please reply soonest...

The Dogs Ballacks

5-Star

Black Socks Red Tops

Yer Ma's Athletic

Cherry United

Leteminletemout

Bazking in Glory

Cool Dude Zoo

The Muppetaldinhos

So folks, until next time,

Week 8 Update

Dear All,

After an agonisingly long international break, it's back to the cut and thrust of premier league football, and more importantly the Diving in the Box FF League Championship.

This week's highest scorer is none other than Ashburton Groove N7 whose affinity with an in-form Arsenal side has seen Chuckle Brother the Younger jump nine places to 6th position with a weekly total of 54 points. After a disappointing couple of seasons since his league title win of 2004, Pads has suffered a couple of years in the wilderness. Could this be the year in which he returns to form? We'll see.

Other top scorers this week were The Virgin Surfers, whose 45 points saw Manager Eastwood jump clear of relegation, and The Busted Sofas who jumped five places with 44 points.

Overall, well done to anyone scoring over 40 points but commiserations to anyone scoring less than 20 this week.

Three teams fall into this category, the worst performer being Gazza's Piping Hots (chortle, chortle) with 11 points. Others to be laughed at this week are True Blue Strikers (snigger, snigger) and The Muppetaldinhos (guffaw, guffaw) who both scored 19 points apiece (as they say in the 'Island!). Maynesy's affinity with an out-of-form Liverpool doing his DITB chances no favours. However, things could change drastically when the Reds come up against lesser opponents (such as Man Utd on Sunday!).

At the top, The Dogs Ballack are still going well, ahead of defending champ Maclacticos and The Grapes who are hanging on irritatingly as Grapes tend to do. The Toffees and Prince of Darkness complete our top five this week.

At the bottom, The Muppets resume service in last position giving a welcome break to Con Villa who actually showed a bit of form this week. The Muppets are 25 points from safety and 135 points behind the leader at this stage.

Worth pointing out AGAIN at this stage, that Bazking in Glory remains in 33rd position for the SIXTH consecutive week (which includes five scoring weeks). Good steady scoring Baz but I think you've got your Dalkon Shield calculations wrong this year!

Red
to Black: Rising from red to black this week is Decies Ant Atac (23rd to joint 18th) and Gulladuff Mafia (21st to joint 18th). The Boyle sisters won't have to worry about any skidmarks on the keks this week!

Black
to
Red: Sliding from black to red this week are two teams fond of a wee flutter down the bookies... Gazza's Piping Hots (15th to 23rd) and The Blue Monkeys (18th to 21st). Bet the launderette is looking forward to your next weekly delivery lads!

Finally, looking ahead to this year's ACP, I have suggested three possibilities... December 2, December 16 or January.

I have heard from 18 managers and the date could go either way so I really need to hear from the following as soon as possible...

The Dogs Ballacks
The Toffees
Harpic Amsterdam
5-Star
Black Socks Red Tops
Yer Ma's Athletic
Cherry United
Leteminletemout
Gazza's Piping Hots
Bazking in Glory
Cool Dude Zoo
Con Villa
The Muppetaldinhos

Your preferences will decide on which date we hold this year's festive booze-fest.

So folks, that's about it for another week.

Until next time,

Week 7Update

Dear All,

Apologies for no update last week but I was out of the office and have been up to my eyes at work since.

Anyway, with internationals being played over the weekend and tonight, you haven't missed much.

So, a week later than planned, let's have a quick look at the current situation.

Top scorer last week was The Toffees whose 41 points saw Manager Boardman jump back into third position overall. A good week was also had by Yer Ma's Athletic, leaping 10 places to 19th with 38 points, and True Blue Strikers, now back in UEFA Cup contention with 37 points.

Lowest scorers of the week are The Muppetaldinhos (surprise surprise) and Gold Coast Heroes, both scoring just 9 points, while Hoofers United didn't fair much better on 12 points.

Overall, there weren't many goals or clean sheets about this week so any manager scoring more than 20 points should be feeling happy enough. Above 30 and you're laughing!

The Dogs Ballacks hold on to the lead at the top, ahead of defending champion Maclacticos, while Con Villa remains rooted to the bottom, just below Virgin Surfers and the Muppets.

Worth pointing out is that Bazking in Glory remains in 33rd position for the FOURTH consecutive week!

Now, once again, it's time to look at who has moved from the red zone to the black zone and vice versa.

Remember that the red zone covers the league positions that will make up the first DITB Division Two next season, while the black zone represents the safety of Division One football.

Red
to Black: Rising from red to black this week is Yer Ma's Athletic (29th to 19th)

Black
to
Red: Sliding from black to red this week is Brendy's Bruisers (20th to 23rd)

Finally, looking ahead to this year's ACP (Annual Christmas P*ss-up for any newcomers out there), I would suggest Saturday December 16 for the mother of all festive booze marathons. Again, we'll be looking at The Bot as our venue with a kick-off time of 12 noon. Brother Johnston will probably let us know what football matches will be showing that day.

Please let me know ASAP if you can make it on this date.

So that's it for this week folks.

Until next week,
