FF Update
Dear All,
Week two is over and we've got two members of the fairer sex in the top five!!!! What in the name of God is going on with the world????
No seriously, well done to The Toffees and Minibabybelle FC on their excellent starts to the season but there are also smiles on the faces of The Grapes and the newly wed True Blue Strikers who are sandwiched in between (ooh errr missus!!!).
The Prince of Darkness is still stake-ing his claim for the title at this early stage but will he fare so well when rival managers produce the garlic and crucifixes from their pockets at a crucial moment?
Elsewhere, it's much too early to really analyse league positions as a team can still jump more than 10 places in one week - namely Maclacticos, Joey's Monsters, KFC Academical and Harpic Amsterdam, all of whom I'm sure are breathing big sighs of relief to be clear of the dreaded red zone.
There are currently four teams in the relegation zone this week, due to a tie for 36th position. These include Con Villa, Cool Dude Zoo, Leteminletemout (Jeez I hate typing that name!!!!) and Bazking in Glory (yeah sure thing Baz!!!). Still, all of the above will be delighted to see The Muppetaldinhos perched nicely ahead of them in 35th position, his place in the bottom three as close to a sure thing as you can get at this early stage.
Yet, as I've said, it's too early to get into too much detail, especially as no-one has been able to make any transfers yet. Yes, from today you can now get rid of your early season dead wood and make four transfers per week, up to a maximum of 30 during the season.
This week's transfer password is ALIEN and for those who do their wheeling and dealing over the phone, the telephone number is 0901 601 4001.
In case anyone's wondering, last week's update actually contained a portion of week two's scores which might explain any confusion when you look closely at your points total for the previous week (which is in brackets beside your current score).
Highest scorer overall this week is The Toffees with 72 points, followd closely by The Prince on 71 points and then a bit of a drop to Joey's Monsters on 55.
At the wrong end, the lowest score this week goes to Leteminletemout (aaaaaaggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!) with just 12 points (serves you right Henry!!!), followed by Gazza's Piping Hots on 15 and The Busted Sodas on 16.
Finally, it's time to look at this week's movers and shakers. Every week I will let you know who has moved from the red zone to the black zone and vice versa. Remember that the red zone covers the league positions that will make up the first DITB Division Two next season, while the black zone represents the safety of Division One football.
Black to Red: Sliding from black to red this week are Hoofers (12th to 24th) and my old friend Gazza's Piping Hots (from 19th to 28th.
Red to Black: Rising from red to black this week are Minus Three FC and Black Socks Red Tops (22nd to 20th - hand in hand like two batty boys), Harpic Amsterdam (26th to 11th) and KFC Academical (24th to 11th).
So that's about it for this week folks. It's not worth getting too excited or depressed about anything at this stage. Until the table settles down, teams will be sliding up and down like...... mmmmmm...
Oops sorry about. Unfortunately, due to the internationals this weekend, there will probably be no score updates next week so until the week after...
